First pumpkin

This is the first year we’ve grown pumpkins and this is the first one we’ve picked, one of the smaller ones, it weighs 5 kilos.  I’m using part of it to make mussel and pumpkin soup – see the recipe I posted last year on the Mediterranean cuisine blog.

I came back to the UK with a carload of pumpkins from my garden in France. This sounds an interesting recipe, I will try it out. Diane

That is a gorgeous pumpkin and the soup looks fantastic too! I'm reveling in fall foods like this right now. As much as I love summer flavors, fall flavors are hard to beat also.

Oh, that's truly lovely. I have eaten mussels here that put every other mussel I've had to shame.
