Oh, very springlike indeed! We have a wet weekend to look forward to. But we need the rain and I have indoor chores to do so it's ok.
I bet the sea was cold! We haven't been to the seaside yet this year, although we have had some gorgeous warm days.
Michelle: since I posted this we've had a night of torrential rain - much needed for the garden!
Jan: yes, the sea was cold, far too cold to think about swimming of course, but I like to paddle whenever I go to the Mediterranean.
I'm glad you've subsequently written it rained. The rain has in the meantime arrived with us. According to the weather forecast spring is to start tomorrow though :-)
We keep getting springy days mixed with rain. Hard to know where we're going to end up.
It's only the first week of February, but we all long for spring anyway, don't we?
It's wonderful to hear how you are feeling, seeing and tasting it as it slowly unfurls.
Our snowdrops are coming through this morning dispite the frost. It seems that their sprouting is triggered by temperature and they are committed no matter what the weather does thereafter, even hard frosts and a foot of snow won't stop them!
I will belive it is spring when my hands stop hurting with the cold and I can start wearing shorts, so sometime in late May then!
As for dipping a toe in the sea.....
The Mimossa looks wonderful.
This looks idyllic. It's still grey and cold here so it doesn't feel very springlike yet.
I so loved your garden and our trip to the Mediterranean.... in 2008.... goodness, must be time for another trip!
