It’s been raining almost constantly for four days now – very welcome for the water supply but not very good for the morale or for spring work in the garden.

That looks a bit damp!! Diane
Ugh. I feel your frustration. We have had torrential rains here in the Pacific Northwest, and my back garden is sodden. No working the beds for me, either. Here's to sunnier skies for us both!
I wasn't brave enough to take the camera out walking with me, as I didn't want to get any wet in the lens, and of course we've got no car at the moment.
We have moved from Carcassonne to nearer the Med and 5am Friday was a new record for us - 0° and 100% humidity. Since then lots of wind and rain. The tiny wild irises had just come out - i hope they have survived but all the almond blossom has gone. Back to Spring soon I hope.
